On Monday, June 2, 2025, Nigeria's affordable housing sector recorded a major advancement with the signing of a collaboration agreement between the Ministry of Finance Incorporated (MOFI), Family Homes Funds Limited (FHFL), and ARM Investment Managers (ARM). The signing ceremony, held at the MOFI office in Abuja, marked the formal launch of a strategic alliance designed to expand access to affordable homeownership for federal civil servants.
A central focus of the event was the introduction of innovative financing approaches, such as blended finance models, lower equity contributions, and more accessible mortgage options, all tailored to support national housing objectives.
Dr. Armstrong Takang, Managing Director of MOFI, described the agreement as a targeted intervention to ease the cost burden of homeownership for civil servants and ultimately improve their overall quality of life.
Echoing this vision, Mr. Abdul Mutallab Mukhtar, Managing Director of FHFL, reaffirmed the Fund’s commitment to making homeownership more accessible for Nigerians. He emphasized that this partnership marks a critical step toward realizing that commitment.
Similarly, Mr. Wale Odutola, Deputy Managing Director of ARM, expressed optimism about the collaboration’s capacity to deliver transformative financing solutions. He highlighted ARM’s dedication to supporting sustainable development through innovative investment mechanisms.
This partnership underscores a unified effort between public and private sector stakeholders to address Nigeria’s housing affordability challenges. It sets a strong precedent for future initiatives aimed at improving the living standards of civil servants and the broader Nigerian population.
