FHFL GRADUATES 500 ARTISANS UNDER FAST PROGRAMME IN KATSINA

May 07, 2026

It was a joyous moment in Katsina State as Family Homes Funds Limited (FHFL) celebrated the graduation of 500 artisans under its Skills Acquisition Training Programme, popularly known as ‘FAST’. The initiative, designed to strengthen capacity within the housing and construction sector, brought together carefully selected participants from across the state for intensive, hands-on training in key vocational areas.

The Managing Director/CEO of FHFL, Mr. Abdul Mutallab Muktar, was represented at the event by Mallam Abdullahi Musa, Executive Director of Finance, who delivered a warm welcome address. In his remarks, he commended the dedication of the trainees and reaffirmed FHFL’s commitment to not only financing affordable housing but also investing in human capital to drive sustainable development. He also appreciated the support of partners and stakeholders whose contributions ensured the success of the programme.

In his address, the Executive Governor of Katsina State, Mallam Dikko Umaru Radda, Ph.D., encouraged the beneficiaries to make judicious use of the skills acquired. He emphasized the importance of discipline, hard work, and continuous learning, noting that the training presents a valuable opportunity for self-reliance and economic empowerment.

A highlight of the ceremony was the recognition of outstanding participants across the six skill areas: plumbing, electrical installation, tiling, painting, masonry, and carpentry. Arc. Ahmed Musa Dangiwa presented cash gifts to the best-performing trainees in each category, further motivating excellence and rewarding dedication throughout the training period.

In addition, all graduating artisans were provided with starter toolkits to support their transition into the workforce and enable them to immediately put their newly acquired skills into practice.

The event marked a significant milestone in FHFL’s efforts to empower local artisans, promote job creation, and strengthen the capacity required to support affordable housing delivery across Nigeria. Beneficiaries expressed gratitude for the opportunity, describing the programme as impactful and transformative for their future livelihoods.
