The official presentation of allocation papers to civil servants, composed mostly of school teachers took place at the Coronation Hall in the Kano state government house on Saturday, 10th December 2022.
Presenting the 500 housing units to the beneficiaries, the Deputy Governor of Kano state, Dr. Nasiru Yusuf Gawuna commended Family Homes Funds for its remarkable partnership with the state, creating a lifetime opportunity for civil servants to own their own homes.
‘’The government of Kano state is very proud of the partnership with
Family Homes Funds, through which five hundred new homes have been
provided for our hardworking civil servants. This is a fulfillment of
our vision for the citizens of Kano state, ensuring safety and comfort
for those who contribute the most to the development of our state.
‘’So, we are happy to present these homes to our school teachers, fulfilling a well-deserved dream. With their great contributions to building leaders of tomorrow, school teachers, like other civil servants deserve homes that are decent and affordable, and we commend Family Homes Funds for helping us achieve this,’ he said.

In partnership with the state government, Family Homes Funds financed the project and provided other technical support required to improve the living condition of low-income earners in the state.
According to the Acting Managing Director of Family Homes Funds, Mr. Sani Yakubu, “Family Homes Funds is totally dedicated to fulfilling its duty to carry out the government’s goal of guaranteeing that the millions of Nigerians living in deplorable housing conditions have access to not just a safe, decent, and affordable home, but also sustainable jobs.
‘’In that sense, we are grateful for the opportunity to support the government of Kano State under the leadership of Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje with homes that will directly impact on the lives of citizens. This was achieved on behalf of the government of President Muhammadu Buhari. As at today, in total, we have supported the development of over 900 homes in Kano state, through which over 3,500 jobs have been created, with additional impact on local businesses.’’
Also present at the presentation was the Honourable Minister of state for Works and Housing, Alhaji Umar El-Yakub. The Honourable Minster commended the Family Homes Funds’ Affordable Housing Programme for increasing home ownership opportunities for Nigerians who need homes the most.
‘’This is a very welcome development. The goal of governance is to continually impact on the lives of people. We can only measure good governance by the number of people whose lives are positively changed by policies and programmes. This programme is a great indication of performance, and I would like to commend the government of Kano state and Family Homes Funds for working collaboratively to improve the lives of the people of Kano state through the provision of five hundred affordable and decent homes,’’ he said.
As at today, Family Homes Funds has supported the development of over
