FHFL Commissions 100 Free Homes for Widows in Kaduna

November 06, 2025

Family Homes Funds Limited (FHFL) has commissioned 100 newly constructed homes for widows under its Social Housing Programme in Rigachikun, Igabi Local Government Area of Kaduna State. The event, which took place on Monday, November 3, 2025, marks a major milestone in FHFL’s mission to provide affordable housing and economic opportunities for vulnerable Nigerians.

The commissioning ceremony was attended by dignitaries from the federal and state governments, including the Executive Governor of Kaduna State, His Excellency Senator Uba Sani, representatives of the Federal Ministry of Housing and Urban Development, and the Board and Management of Family Homes Funds Limited.

In his remarks, the Chairman of FHFL, Mr. Ademola Adebise, described the project as a symbol of renewed hope and restored dignity for the 100 widows who are now proud homeowners. He highlighted that the initiative aligns with the company’s vision of inclusive growth, where affordable housing serves as a foundation for stability, economic participation, and community development.

“The Social Housing Project demonstrates how public-private partnerships can deliver impactful solutions that change lives. We are not just building houses; we are building opportunities for women to thrive, support their families, and contribute to the local economy,” Mr. Adebise stated.

He further noted that the homes were constructed using environmentally sustainable materials and powered partly by solar energy — reflecting FHFL’s commitment to green and climate-smart housing. Beneficiaries also received skills training and livelihood support to help them generate income and sustain their households.

Speaking at the event, Governor Uba Sani commended Family Homes Funds Limited for its dedication to improving the lives of low-income Nigerians. He emphasized the importance of collaboration between state governments and development partners in tackling the housing deficit while creating jobs and empowering communities.

The FHFL Social Housing Project in Rigachikun represents a model for future interventions across Nigeria — one that integrates affordability, sustainability, and social inclusion.

Through initiatives like this, Family Homes Funds continues to advance its mission of transforming lives, strengthening communities, and promoting inclusive national development through affordable housing.
