The Association of Housing Corporations of Nigeria (AHCN) has awarded Family Homes Funds Limited (FHFL) the Affordable Housing Finance Company of the Year.

The award was presented to FHFL at the just concluded Housing Africa conference held in Lagos, Nigeria. The award ceremony was attended by major stakeholders in the sector, including the Governor of Lagos state, Babajide Sanwo-Olu.

In a press conference after the event, AHCN Executive Secretary, Mr. Toye Eniola stated that FHFL was very deserving of the recognition because of the company’s significant contribution to the delivery of affordable housing for low-income families across Nigeria.

He said that since 2018 when FHFL became fully operational, it has improved home ownership opportunities for low-income families, created thousands of jobs, and actively promoted local production of building materials in the country.

“Family Homes Funds must be commended for the level of performance it has recorded this past year,” he said.

Reacting to the award, the Ag. Managing Director of FHFL, Mr. Sani Yakubu, who was represented at the event commended the Association of Housing Corporations of Nigeria for organizing a very impactful conference, culminating in the award ceremony for industry performers.

He thanked the organizers for the recognition and reiterated FHFL’s commitment to the progressive delivery of affordable housing for families who need it the most.

So far, FHFL has contributed to the delivery of over 15,000 homes, created over 80,000 jobs, and has rolled out several products that are creating ease to home ownership in Nigeria. The company’s life ambition is to provide up to 500,000 homes and create 1.5m jobs in the process through partnerships and innovation.
